Master of Library & Information Science or M Lib is a postgraduate course that covers the advanced study of principles and practices of library and information science. It also includes the current technologies applied to these processes.

The program teaches the students skills in IT science and library management. These include information management, classification and cataloging, statistics, book preservation and reference, database management, knowledge management, etc.

This is a 1-year postgraduate course. Some institutes also offer a 2-year program. The maximum and minimum M Lib course duration differs based on the curriculum followed by different institutes.

Dr CV Raman University in Bilaspur, Chattisgarh, offers a one-year M Lib course spread across two semesters. Candidates who already have a B Lib degree are eligible for this program.
